Responsibilities
- Own the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for security offerings, advocating internally with engineering and leadership and externally with customers and the market.
- Develop deep expertise in database security, networking, and identity and access management (IAM).
- Partner with engineering, design, sales, and marketing to ship secure products.
- Translate complex security requirements into specifications and user stories.
- Prioritize the backlog and balance business value, customer risk, and engineering cost.
- Drive go-to-market activities for security launches, including positioning, sales enablement, and documentation.
- Monitor security feature performance and use data to guide product decisions.
- Serve as the security subject-matter expert and guide or coach product managers working on security-adjacent problems.
- Represent the security posture and roadmap with customers, prospects, analysts, and other external audiences.
Requirements
- 10+ years of product management experience in B2B SaaS, with significant and sustained focus on security products or features.
- Experience setting security strategy at an organizational level.
- Hands-on experience with database security principles and best practices.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and their security implications.
- In-depth knowledge of identity and access management (IAM).
- Solid program management skills, including planning, execution, and risk management across concurrent workstreams.
- Experience representing products externally and translating technical security topics for non-technical audiences.
- Experience guiding or informally mentoring other product managers.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to exercise judgment about when to escalate and when to make decisions independently.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with shifting priorities.
