Forward Deployed Engineering Internship
This internship focuses on deploying, upgrading, and debugging stateful agent infrastructure in customer-controlled environments. Candidates should have hands-on self-hosted or cloud experience, Kubernetes and Helm familiarity, Linux skills, and experience building with language models.

Responsibilities
- Work hands-on with the on-premises deployment lifecycle, including Helm charts, upgrades, weekly releases, and rollback paths.
- Help consolidate diverged customer forks onto a supported chart with appropriate guardrails.
- Improve customer onboarding so new customers can deploy in days rather than weeks.
- Debug across the stack, including Temporal workflows, Kubernetes initialization ordering, storage, and authentication-refresh pipelines.
- Support the security surface through CVE triage, patching, and root-cause analyses.
Requirements
- Experience building in environments you do not fully control, such as a homelab, VPC, or self-hosted environment.
- Curiosity about Kubernetes and Helm, with an interest in developing deep expertise.
- Experience building with language models and familiarity with agents and MCP.
- Comfort working in Linux.
- Ability to write clear root-cause analyses.
- Strong communication and trust-building skills, including comfort acknowledging knowledge gaps.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Temporal.
- Experience with PostgreSQL.
- Experience with cloud secret managers.
- Experience with self-hosted delivery, including KOTS or air-gapped environments.
- Open-source contributions or hackathon wins.
