Responsibilities
- Drive the architectural vision and strategy for designing and delivering enterprise functionality for SaaS customers, including login flows and Auth0 management capabilities.
- Identify and implement strategic technical improvements to the codebase and architecture.
- Orchestrate and lead major technical projects across teams.
- Mentor and coach engineers on engineering practices and technical leadership.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in scalable, reliable, and maintainable distributed systems.
- Collaborate with engineers, Product Management, Product Design, and customers to define and review new features.
Requirements
- Architectural and security knowledge, with experience designing, implementing, and evolving complex distributed systems.
- Experience collaborating closely with external teams on successful projects.
- Strong mentoring, communication, and technical leadership skills.
- Experience with Node.js, JavaScript or TypeScript, scalable backend services, and public and internal APIs.
- Experience building frontend and full-stack applications, including single-page applications.
- Understanding of React and CSS.
- Understanding of SQL databases, including debugging and optimizing table and query structures for performance under load.
- Experience with Docker and cloud environments, preferably AWS and Azure.
- Experience operating services at scale with appropriate observability tools and mechanisms.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), or SAML.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and experience with Terraform.
- Knowledge of security engineering and application security.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual base salary range in Canada: $160,000–$220,000 CAD.
- Equity, bonus, and benefits may include health, dental, and vision insurance, RRSP matching, healthcare spending, telemedicine, and paid leave, including PTO and parental leave.
