Software Engineer Intern

Build and ship a meaningful software project during a 12-week onsite internship, contributing to product or engineering infrastructure. Candidates should have programming experience, core computer science knowledge, and evidence of building projects from scratch.

Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver a meaningful software engineering project contributing to product or engineering infrastructure.
  • Build, ship, and iterate on production work alongside experienced engineers.
  • Potentially improve search quality and ranking, add search filters or data sources, apply LLMs to recruiting workflows, improve internal tools and developer experience, enhance testing infrastructure, or build new product experiences.
  • Work with technologies including Next.js, React, Node.js, OpenSearch, AWS SQS, Spark, inference providers, and large language models.
  • Participate in mentorship, technical sessions, cohort programming, and an end-of-summer project demo.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, or possess equivalent self-developed skills.
  • Experience programming in at least one language.
  • Solid understanding of core computer science concepts.
  • Evidence of building something from scratch through coursework, personal projects, research, internships, startups, or open source.
  • Ability to work onsite in the San Francisco office for the full 12-week internship.
  • Curiosity, ownership, willingness to seek feedback, and ability to learn quickly.

Compensation and Benefits

  • $60 per hour.
