Manager 2, Premier Support Engineering
Leads and develops Premier Support Engineering teams, overseeing people management, performance, team initiatives, and high-priority customer escalations. The role requires prior team leadership, including managing managers, plus programming experience and basic Linux knowledge.

Responsibilities
- Manage, develop, coach, and mentor Premier Support Engineers who respond to client requests, reproduce and troubleshoot issues, and work with Datadog’s 400+ integrations.
- Own team accountability and performance, including performance reviews, performance plans, and employee relations issues for direct reports.
- Partner with Support senior leadership on team projects and initiatives that improve productivity, processes, or procedures.
- Collaborate with internal teams and customers on high-priority escalations and help resolve escalations from team members.
Requirements
- Previous experience leading a team, including managing other managers.
- Passion for people management and/or mentorship.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous learning.
- Critical thinker with a client-centric approach and data-informed decision-making.
- Some programming experience and basic knowledge of Linux.
- Active contribution to open-source projects, such as code or bug reports, and to the engineering community through activities such as meetups.
