Responsibilities
- Analyze entities across the Plaid network to identify behavior, opportunities, anomalies, and risks.
- Create foundational metrics, dashboards, and monitoring systems for network health and machine learning model performance.
- Evaluate the value and performance of machine learning models using customer and internal data.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing models and communicate actionable findings to product and engineering leaders.
- Design experiments, define success metrics and guardrails, analyze results, and communicate recommendations.
- Analyze product and customer data to identify opportunities for product improvement and expansion.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to build reliable data models and analytics workflows.
- Apply quantitative analysis, data mining, and data visualization to improve network health and products.
- Establish analytics practices and frameworks and help shape data science and machine learning roadmaps.
Requirements
- 6+ years of industry experience in data science or a related analytics role.
- Deep familiarity with SQL and data visualization tools.
- Understanding of modern machine learning techniques, including classification, clustering, and optimization.
- Experience evaluating model performance, identifying improvement opportunities, and connecting technical results to business outcomes.
- Experience tailoring analytical solutions to business problems with cross-functional partners.
- Ability to code and iterate independently in Python, particularly for exploratory data analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining analytical methods, tradeoffs, and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience building or partnering on data pipelines using dbt or Airflow.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range: $190,800–$262,800.
- Additional compensation may include equity and/or commission.
- Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
