Responsibilities
- Build and deliver trustworthy quarterly user-growth forecasts for Duolingo’s product portfolio.
- Collaborate with data scientists and cross-functional partners in Product, Finance, and Strategy.
- Mentor junior data scientists and help ensure forecasts are reliable and delivered consistently.
- Develop forecasts that reflect product development, major initiatives, and evolving business strategy.
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear narratives and actionable recommendations for senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
- Develop and validate forecasting methodology improvements aligned with business priorities.
- Build systems and processes that make forecasting robust and repeatable.
Requirements
- Applied industry experience building forecasts in messy real-world settings where confounding factors, details, and assumption validity matter.
- Graduate degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent demonstrated expertise in formal analytical techniques.
- Ability to connect technical results to real-world recommendations and translate product and business changes into technical requirements.
- Strong command of SQL, Python, AI analysis tools, and data and analytics engineering ecosystems.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex quantitative work into clear, actionable insights.

Compensation
- Base salary range: $182,800–$247,300 USD.
- Equity compensation supplements the base salary.
