Senior backend engineer responsible for designing, building, and operating cloud partner integrations across authentication, identity federation, multi-tenancy, and data movement. Responsibilities
- Own partner integrations end to end, including architecture, implementation, and production operations.
- Design authentication and identity flows, multi-tenancy, data movement and residency, performance, and production behavior.
- Own infrastructure, CI, deployment, observability, and on-call support for delivered systems.
- Build on external platforms with limited documentation, unfamiliar deployment topologies, and partner-controlled approval cycles.
- Partner with internal teams to define interfaces, manage dependencies, and resolve cross-team blockers.
- Establish technical direction and document decisions through design documents, pull requests, and RFCs.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, including substantial work on data-heavy or integration-oriented systems.
- Strong backend and systems engineering skills, including deployment topology, multi-tenancy, data movement, and architectural tradeoffs.
- Experience with modern authentication protocols, service principals, and identity federation across trust boundaries.
- Experience building on external platforms and managing incomplete documentation or breaking changes.
- Ability to operate effectively amid ambiguity and make sound decisions under uncertainty.
- Strong collaboration and written communication skills.
- Backend-focused engineering experience with enough JavaScript or TypeScript proficiency to contribute when needed.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools responsibly.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with a major cloud data or analytics platform ecosystem.
- Deep authentication and identity federation expertise, or experience with partner marketplaces or certification processes.
- Experience designing multi-tenant SaaS platforms, isolation models, or deployment topologies.
- Working knowledge of ClickHouse or another columnar/OLAP engine.
