Responsibilities
- Own and build backend services and infrastructure for a high-throughput observability platform.
- Design scalable systems for ingesting, processing, and querying petabytes of observability data.
- Build reliable data pipelines and APIs for developers.
- Collaborate with open-source contributors and customers, resolve technical challenges, and incorporate feedback into backend architecture and API design.
- Create developer tooling and design APIs, SDKs, and client libraries for an excellent developer experience.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend development, preferably building developer tools or infrastructure.
- Strong TypeScript and Node.js skills, with experience in Express, Fastify, or similar frameworks.
- Solid understanding of API design, distributed systems, and data modeling.
- Experience with containerized environments, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Passion for open source and the developer community.
- Experience creating developer tooling and designing for developers.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Go.
- Experience with ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, or other analytical or OLTP databases.
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, logging pipelines, or metrics infrastructure.
- Experience with SDKs or client library design.
- Exposure to message queues, streaming systems such as Kafka or NATS, or event-driven architectures.
