Senior Backend Engineer, Analytics Instrumentation (Golang)
Builds and guides a unified analytics instrumentation platform for SaaS and self-managed environments, using Go and cloud-native infrastructure. The role requires strong production backend and platform experience, systems design judgment, cross-team collaboration, and engineering mentorship.

Responsibilities
- Guide the design, implementation, and evolution of a unified data collection platform using Golang, Kubernetes, ClickHouse, and NATS.
- Improve the emission, transit, and quality of instrumentation data, including data integrity and usage billing accuracy.
- Provide technical guidance for usage billing and instrumentation systems, including incident handling, root cause analysis, and service restoration.
- Collaborate with research and development teams and the enterprise data organization to deliver common solutions.
- Make technical choices balancing product-team usability with reliability and correctness for data consumers.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical documentation.
Requirements
- Significant experience working with platform or infrastructure systems in production environments.
- Strong proficiency in Go and experience building and maintaining production services.
- Strong backend development experience designing and delivering scalable, reliable systems for internal and external customers.
- Experience guiding technical design and balancing reliability, performance at scale, data quality, and observability.
- Experience working across team boundaries with product teams, data consumers, and internal stakeholders.
- Familiarity with cloud-native technologies and open-source development practices.
- Track record of mentoring engineers and documenting technical decisions.
Nice to Have
- Experience with JavaScript and Python services.
- Experience with data pipelines and AI tool integration.
- Experience building privacy-conscious analytics or event-data collection systems.
Compensation and Benefits
- United States base salary: $117,600–$252,000 USD.
- Benefits include flexible paid time off, team member resource groups, equity compensation, an employee stock purchase plan, a growth and development fund, and parental leave.
