Technical Docs Writer

Product Documentation

• Write and maintain user guides, API documentation, technical specifications, and other product-related content.

Collaboration

• Partner with engineers, product managers, and designers to gather information and ensure accurate documentation of features and updates.

Documentation Standards

• Help establish and improve documentation processes and best practices across the company.

User-Centered Writing

• Write clear, concise, and accurate documentation aimed at various audiences, from developers to non-technical users.
• Maintain a consistent voice, a clear and engaging tone, and a solid grasp of grammar and usage rules.

Content Review

• Edit and review documentation produced by other team members to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency.

Continuous Improvement

• Continuously update and improve documentation as new product features are developed or existing ones are updated.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in technical writing
• Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts
• Experience with docs as code
• Basic understanding of software development, APIs, and web technologies
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders
• Experience with documentation tools such as Markdown, Confluence, GitHub, or similar platforms
• High attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Nice-to-Haves

• Familiarity with common programming languages and development tools
• Familiarity with version control systems
• Experience in a startup environment or at a Series A/B tech company

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual salary range: $150,000 - $195,000
