Electrical Engineer, Power Systems , R&D
Electrical Engineer designing and integrating behind-the-meter power generation, storage, and microgrid systems for AI data centers. Requires experience with generator interconnections, islanded operation, stability/protection studies, and plant commissioning.
About the job
Responsibilities
- Engineer the electrical side of behind-the-meter generation: collection, interconnection, and integration with the data center.
- Design the electrical balance of plant: generator connections, transformers, and switchgear for fast-build plants.
- Run the studies for islanded and grid-parallel operation: stability, grounding, and protection coordination.
- Integrate storage and generation electrically into one controllable campus system.
Requirements
- Engineered electrical systems for power generation, microgrids, or utility-scale storage.
- Designed generator interconnections and the studies behind them.
- Understand islanded operation and what it does to protection and stability.
- Integrated inverter-based resources with rotating machines.
- Taken plant designs through commissioning.
Nice-to-Haves
- Microgrid controls.
- Grid codes and interconnection standards.
- PSCAD or PSSE.
- BESS electrical design.
