Civil Engineer
Designs and supports construction of civil and site infrastructure for a high-capacity battery storage plant, including foundations, grading, drainage, fire-safety provisions, and equipment interfaces. Requires a bachelor's degree and at least three years of industrial, energy, or data-center civil or structural design experience.

Responsibilities
- Own civil and site design for the battery storage plant, including pads, foundations, grading, drainage, access roads, fire lanes, and equipment yards coordinated with electrical collection and NFPA 855 spacing.
- Support the fire and life-safety case with civil provisions, including water supply, hydrant layout, deflagration venting clearances, and emergency vehicle access for authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) review.
- Coordinate seismic and severe-weather structural design bases for storage blocks, transformers, and equipment supports with structural engineering.
- Produce issued-for-construction civil packages, including site plans, sections, details, specifications, and bid support.
- Resolve field RFIs, submittals, and installation quality issues during construction of the storage yard.
- Coordinate underground electrical duct banks, oil containment, and grounding-grid civil interfaces with Design and Ops/Build engineers.
- Maintain as-built civil records for the storage plant.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or another engineering discipline.
- 3+ years of civil or structural design experience on industrial, energy, or data center sites.
- Professional Engineering license or intention to actively seek a PE license.
- Experience with NFPA 855 or energy-storage site civil design.
- Experience with seismic qualification and severe-weather hardening of outdoor electrical equipment.
- AutoCAD Civil 3D or equivalent site-design software experience.
- Experience coordinating civil packages with medium-voltage collection and fire-protection design.
- Experience defending a design to an authority having jurisdiction.
- Ability to perform hands-on work in heat, cold, rain, tight quarters, and at heights.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed for construction, energization, and operations.
- Ability to remain focused in hazardous environments while wearing appropriate PPE.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
- Availability for 24/7 on-call emergency support.
- Willingness to work onsite in Memphis, TN and travel up to 25% for factory witness testing, vendor and OEM engagement, and support of other sites.
- Valid driver's license.
