About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and experience for Hex’s web surfaces (website, documentation, future experiences)
  • Design and implement production-ready front-end code (React/Next.js, CSS)
  • Own launch assets with marketing for product moments
  • Establish and maintain visual quality, patterns, consistency
  • Partner with designers and marketers for storytelling
  • Drive web roadmap (performance, clarity, experimentation)
  • Collaborate with engineering, contribute front-end code
  • Support product illustrations and light motion
  • Hire, manage, mentor team of engineers/designers
  • Influence Design team processes and culture

Requirements

  • 8+ years web/visual/UI design experience with strong portfolio (craft, storytelling, systems)
  • Strong in UX, layout, visual design, typography
  • Experience with marketing surfaces for technical/B2B/product-led companies
  • Fluent in HTML, CSS, React/Next.js; ship production code
  • Attention to implementation details
  • Eye for visual consistency, motion, micro-interactions, illustration
  • Autonomous, velocity-focused, own projects end-to-end
  • Establish processes/patterns for growing team
  • Clear communication, humility, cross-functional

Compensation

  • Salary range: $170,000 - $240,000
