Senior UI Engineer
Build and maintain complex React and TypeScript interfaces for manufacturing, engineering, and AI/ML workflows. The role requires experience with stateful interaction-heavy applications, data validation, debugging, and cross-functional collaboration in technically complex environments.

Responsibilities
- Own, maintain, and extend internal applications supporting manufacturing and engineering workflows.
- Build and maintain a complex, stateful React and TypeScript application for a visual graph editor.
- Understand user workflows, domain requirements, and data constraints before selecting implementation approaches.
- Collaborate with AI researchers, process engineers, chemists, device engineers, designers, and software engineers.
- Deliver small-to-medium features end to-end, including UI, state changes, validation, testing, documentation, and release.
- Triage issues, reproduce problems, identify root causes, and implement durable fixes.
- Maintain strict data contracts and deterministic behavior across validation, state management, and exports.
- Write and maintain unit tests with Jest and TypeScript.
- Communicate technical decisions through pull requests, commit hygiene, and documentation.
- Improve front-end maintainability, reliability, and performance.
Requirements
- 3–10 years of experience building software for industrial, robotics, manufacturing, scientific, or similarly complex technical environments.
- Strong experience building complex, stateful UI systems with React and TypeScript.
- Experience with graph or diagram editors, visual workflow builders, or similarly interaction-heavy applications.
- Experience solving ambiguous technical problems across cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of front-end state management, application architecture, and performance optimization.
- Experience with validation systems, schemas, data contracts, and deterministic outputs.
- Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
- Ability to reason from first principles and translate technical users’ needs into product and engineering decisions.
- Precise communication of implementation details, constraints, and tradeoffs.
- Comfort owning an existing codebase, including maintenance and stabilization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Computer science degree preferred; other technical degrees considered.
- Experience with manufacturing systems such as MES, process planning, recipes, methods, and catalogs.
- Experience with UX/UI design principles and strong product or design sense.
Compensation
- Salary range: $165,000–$220,000 USD.
