International Accounts Payable Manager
Leads international accounts payable operations and transformation while governing an outsourced procure-to-pay provider. Responsibilities
- Lead international accounts payable operations across regions, currencies, legal entities, and regulatory environments, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing.
- Develop and execute an international AP strategy with Domestic AP leadership, standardizing processes while meeting local compliance requirements.
- Partner with Finance, Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Treasury, Tax, HR, and Technology on procure-to-pay operations, cash management, supplier experience, and M&A or expansion activities.
- Own the relationship with the outsourced P2P service provider, including governance frameworks, KPIs, SLAs, quarterly business reviews, escalations, performance, and quality accountability.
- Lead vendor governance, risk mitigation, capacity planning, roadmap alignment, automation, and cost-efficiency initiatives.
- Maintain strong controls, audit readiness, data integrity, SOX compliance, policy adherence, international tax, VAT/GST, withholding requirements, and e-invoice regulation strategy.
- Drive AP transformation through automation, AI, process redesign, ERP and invoice-automation technologies, and shared-services initiatives.
- Use Databricks and data analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Track cycle time, accuracy, aging, exceptions, and satisfaction metrics; lead escalation management and continuous improvement.
- Lead and develop the International AP team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and effective change management.
Requirements
- 12+ years of progressive accounts payable or finance operations leadership experience, including significant international AP oversight.
- Chartered Accountant qualification mandatory.
- Proven experience managing outsourced AP/P2P service providers in complex operating environments.
- Experience leading large-scale AP transformation, automation, and shared-services initiatives.
- Strong understanding of international AP operations, compliance requirements, and multi-entity environments.
- Experience implementing AP technologies, ERP platforms, OCR/invoice automation, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, leadership, stakeholder-management, and organizational-change skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred.
- CPA or an advanced degree is a plus.
- Ability to work with overlap during Pacific Time hours.
