Responsibilities
- Own and exceed revenue targets by winning new major telecommunications accounts and expanding existing relationships across Japan’s government entities and telecommunications organizations.
- Build and execute territory plans, identifying high-value opportunities across national government ministries, prefectural and municipal governments, and quasi-governmental organizations.
- Lead consultative sales processes with senior government officials, procurement leaders, and technical stakeholders.
- Position AI as a driver for digital government transformation and improved citizen services.
- Orchestrate Product, Engineering, Applied AI, and Partnerships teams to deliver solutions meeting stringent security, compliance, and procurement requirements.
Requirements
- 8+ years of enterprise sales experience in Japan, with significant exposure to telecommunications-sector accounts.
- Experience driving adoption of emerging technologies through consultative, solutions-oriented sales.
- Track record managing complex, long-cycle sales processes and securing strategic government deals.
- Understanding of telecommunications-sector procurement requirements and compliant solution development.
- Ability to navigate stakeholder ecosystems and build consensus across departments, budget authorities, and approval layers.
- Proven success exceeding revenue targets and managing pipelines across different government fiscal timelines.
- Strategic and analytical approach to identifying opportunities, combined with patient, relationship-focused execution.
- Strong teamwork and ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, startup-like environments.
- Passion for or experience with advanced AI systems and responsible AI development.
- Excellent communication skills in Japanese and English.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
