Leads Anthropic’s global community function across developer, enterprise, and practitioner audiences, building programs that drive retained usage, product adoption, and enterprise expansion. The role requires experience scaling distributed teams, measuring commercial impact, and partnering across Product, Sales, Customer Success, Brand, and Communications.

Responsibilities
- Own the global community strategy and operating model, including the audience thesis, program portfolio, and central versus regional execution.
- Lead, coach, and scale a global team of program and regional owners.
- Define a measurement framework tied to retained users and product adoption, partnering with Product and Data Science on success metrics and user segmentation.
- Build community programs for enterprise buyers, executive sponsors, developers, technical practitioners, and knowledge workers.
- Connect bottoms-up adoption to enterprise expansion through champions, train-the-trainer, and partner ecosystem programs integrated with Sales and Customer Success account plans.
- Unify training, certification, enablement, and community support into a scalable skill-building engine.
- Partner with Brand and Communications to maintain healthy sentiment and awareness and define community’s role in Anthropic’s brand.
- Align community strategy with product direction, launches, and pricing and packaging.
- Work from the San Francisco or New York office at least once per month; travel up to 40% for events and customer engagements.
Requirements
- Experience building and leading a community or customer advocacy function where community drove retention, adoption, or expansion outcomes.
- Experience leading and developing a distributed team of program owners and regional leads accountable for commercial impact.
- Ability to define and defend community metrics, funnels, segments, cohorting, attribution, and usage quality.
- Experience connecting self-serve adoption inside large accounts to enterprise expansion.
- Experience serving both technical developer audiences and enterprise executive buyers.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Data Science, Sales, Customer Success, Product Marketing, Brand, and Communications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

- Experience with both PLG/self-serve and enterprise sales motions.
- Experience building recognized champions, ambassadors, or advocacy programs.
- Experience with developer tools, infrastructure, or AI products.
- International experience scaling community programs in EMEA, Japan, or APAC.

- Background in community, customer marketing, developer relations, customer education or enablement, or growth.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual compensation: $400,000–$400,000 USD.
- Hybrid policy: staff are generally expected to work from an office at least 25% of the time; this role specifically requires monthly office attendance in San Francisco or New York.
- Visa sponsorship may be available.
