Design Engineer

Design and build polished, production-quality interfaces for an AI code review platform across web, IDE, Git, and CLI surfaces. The role requires strong front-end skills in TypeScript and React, visual design craft, rapid prototyping, and experience creating reusable design systems.

Responsibilities

  • Build production-quality UI across IDEs, Git platforms, the CLI, and the web.
  • Rapidly prototype emerging AI experiences, including real-time review, conversational feedback, and agentic workflows.
  • Translate high-fidelity designs into pixel-perfect, production-ready code and advance designs through technical innovation.
  • Own UI implementation quality, including smooth interactions, motion, and micro-interactions.
  • Build and maintain reusable design-system components across web, IDE extensions, Git platforms, and CLI surfaces.
  • Implement clear, performant visualizations for code-quality metrics, dependency graphs, and AI-generated insights.
  • Help define interaction paradigms for AI and developer tools.

Requirements

  • 2–5+ years of experience in design engineering, front-end, or product design roles.
  • Portfolio or shipped work demonstrating engineering rigor and visual craft.
  • Proven experience shipping complex technical products end-to-end in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Experience building or contributing to design systems and component libraries across multiple platforms.
  • Strong command of TypeScript, React, CSS, animation libraries, and modern front-end tooling.
  • Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience at developer-focused companies or building developer tools.
  • Background in or strong understanding of software development and Git workflows.
  • Experience with IDE extensions such as VS Code or JetBrains, Electron, or cross-platform applications.
  • Experience designing or building AI/ML-powered interfaces, motion design, or micro-interactions.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or design systems.
