Responsibilities
- Build and update React/TypeScript user interfaces for a web-based 401(k) platform.
- Write and maintain unit tests for components, hooks, and helpers using Jest, React Testing Library, and MSW for API mocks.
- Work from Jira tickets to clarify requirements, open pull requests, respond to review comments, and ship incrementally.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and engineering teams to turn specifications and mockups into working interfaces.
- Learn the team’s technology stack, coding standards, and Git/GitHub workflow with mentorship.
Requirements
- Comfortable writing TypeScript and React through coursework, bootcamps, internships, personal projects, or 0–2 years of professional experience.
- Familiarity with HTML and CSS and willingness to follow an existing component library and design system.
- Some experience writing tests with Jest, React Testing Library, or similar tools, or a clear willingness to learn testing.
- Comfortable using Git for everyday development, including cloning, branching, committing, and opening pull requests.
- Clear communication, willingness to ask for help, and ability to follow through on feedback.
Nice-to-haves
- Exposure to NestJS, Express, or another Node.js API framework.
- Experience with Material UI, React Query, or a similar component/data-fetching stack.
- Familiarity with Agile practices.
- Internship, co-op, or open-source experience on a team codebase.
- Interest in financial services or retirement products.
- Computer science degree or equivalent practical experience.
Compensation and Benefits
- Expected base salary: $95,000–$110,000 annually.
- Eligible for the company bonus pool and new-hire equity.
