- Design and conduct empirical research on AI's economic effects, drawing on external data sources.

- Work on an empirical project aligned with research priorities, producing a public output (e.g., paper submission).
- Undergo project selection and mentor matching with economists like Maxim Massenkoff or Peter McCrory.
Requirements
- Fluent in Python programming.
- Strong technical background in computer science, mathematics, or physics.
- Motivated by AI safety and societal benefit.
- Available full-time for 4 months.
- Work authorization in US, UK, or Canada; located in that country during program.
- Interest in economics or societal impact research (prior experience a plus).
- Adaptable, collaborative, skilled at writing up and communicating results.
- Passionate about translating research into actionable recommendations for AI systems and policy.

Compensation
- Weekly stipend: $3,850 USD / £2,310 GBP / C$4,300 CAD (40 hours/week for 4 months).
