Requirements

  • Fluent in Python programming.
  • Strong technical background in computer science, mathematics, or physics.
  • Motivated by AI safety and societal benefit.
  • Available full-time for 4 months.
  • Work authorization in US, UK, or Canada; located in that country during program.
  • Interest in economics or societal impact research (prior experience a plus).
  • Adaptable, collaborative, skilled at writing up and communicating results.
  • Passionate about translating research into actionable recommendations for AI systems and policy.

  • Strong background in economics, social sciences.
  • Experience in research or engineering related to economics/societal impacts.

Compensation

  • Weekly stipend: $3,850 USD / £2,310 GBP / C$4,300 CAD (40 hours/week for 4 months).
  • Funding for compute (~$15k/month) and other research expenses.
