Leads strategy and execution for Duolingo’s notifications product, improving engagement, reach, opt-in, and retention across push, email, and alternative channels. Responsibilities
- Own product strategy and execution for a major notifications surface, from identifying opportunities through shipping and iteration.
- Drive the roadmap across new notification types, opt-in and reach, email, and alternative channels.
- Lead features through ideation, prioritization, specification, development, launch, analysis, and iteration.
- Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, ML/AI partners, designers, product writers, and leadership.
- Use experimentation and product intuition to uncover opportunities and translate learnings into product strategy.
- Improve conversion, click-through rate, and opt-in while balancing reach and user-experience guardrails.
- Explore personalized notification formats, channels, and UX patterns for different learners.
Requirements
- Consumer mobile product management experience with a record of outstanding results.
- Significant experience with notifications or adjacent lifecycle surfaces.
- Experience owning notification strategy and execution, including opportunity identification, prioritization, and launches.
- Experience improving notification performance across notification types, opt-in, reach, targeting, or channel strategy.
- Strong judgment balancing engagement, user experience, and long-term reachability.
- Experience with personalized or ML-driven messaging systems, including targeting, ranking, experimentation, or template generation.
- Strong product instincts, analytical judgment, and experimentation skills.
- Experience building roadmaps for existing notification systems and new capabilities.
- Ability to drive alignment and progress independently in ambiguous environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Design, Psychology, or equivalent.

- Advanced degree in Business, Computer Science, Design, Psychology, or equivalent.
- Experience with high-frequency engagement products such as health, wellness, fitness, or mobile games.
- Experience with notification channels beyond push, including email or Live Activities.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range: $182,800–$247,300 USD.
- Equity compensation supplements base salary.
