The first Chief of Staff will partner directly with the CEO and executive team to drive strategic initiatives, improve operating cadence, coordinate cross-functional execution, and prepare board materials. The role suits an adaptable operator with startup, consulting, founder’s-office, or comparable experience.

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic special projects end to end, from framing problems through execution.
  • Structure ambiguous, undefined problems and develop actionable approaches.
  • Serve as a thought partner to the CEO on prioritization, trade-offs, and plans.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives spanning engineering, go-to-market, finance, and people teams.
  • Partner with the CTO, COO, and broader executive team on founder’s-office initiatives.
  • Track ownership and follow-through across teams.
  • Own leadership operating cadence, including planning sessions, leadership meetings, all-hands preparation, and priority tracking.
  • Build and improve internal operating systems and processes as the company scales.
  • Prepare board and investor materials, including decks and memos.
  • Synthesize company-wide input for executive and board meetings.
  • Act as a force multiplier for the CEO’s time, judgment, and follow-through.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a founder’s office or a chief-of-staff-adjacent role at a high-growth startup.
  • Strategy consulting experience followed by an operating role.
  • Prior founder experience.
  • Ability to quickly learn new internal tools, including Ashby, Slack, and Google Workspace.
