Responsibilities
- Provide scientific and programmatic support for the NIH/NINDS Division of Neuroscience and Movement Disorders and Neurodegeneration Cluster.
- Manage and evaluate complex grants portfolios for scientific merit, mission fit, programmatic relevance, progress, and funding-opportunity responsiveness.
- Develop project plans, research plans, timelines, performance measures, metrics, and milestones.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative scientific, portfolio, administrative, and program analyses.
- Prepare data summaries, briefings, reports, manuscripts, presentations, charts, meeting minutes, and educational materials.
- Advise staff and investigators on program priorities, policy requirements, research conduct, compliance, grants, and funding mechanisms.
- Plan, coordinate, and evaluate workshops, symposia, conferences, technical meetings, training sessions, and multidisciplinary initiatives.
- Design and support questionnaires, surveys, protocols, informed consent documents, training manuals, standard operating procedures, and data-collection systems.
- Oversee data management, database and file development, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Engage with NIH staff, government agencies, extramural researchers, scientific leaders, and public- and private-sector stakeholders.
- Identify scientific knowledge gaps and recommend future research directions, program improvements, and procedural changes.
- Develop outreach strategies and communications materials, including website content, newsletters, video scripts, and social media.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Biopsychology, or a related field.
- Background in neuroscience or a related biomedical research discipline.
- Knowledge of NIH grants and funding mechanisms.
- Knowledge of Funding Opportunity Announcements.
- Knowledge of research conduct and compliance.
- Workshop and conference planning experience.
- Project management experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Experience with scientific writing, portfolio analysis, research planning, and quantitative and qualitative evaluation.
