Responsibilities
- Build Atlas Migration Services and tooling, including data movement and disaster recovery features for MongoDB Atlas and on-premises customers.
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to build customer-focused features.
- Uphold engineering best practices and promote quality, customer focus, and continuous learning.
- Mentor and contribute to the growth of team members.
- Solve complex technical problems in distributed environments.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, primarily focused on backend systems.
- Experience writing distributed backend systems in a compiled language such as Java, C#, Go, or C++.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and experience designing APIs and services in a microservices environment.
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with one or more of data streaming, replication, database systems, scalability, performance, reliability, or fault tolerance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborative, curious, empathetic, and motivated to solve complex problems and expand technical knowledge.
