Cloud Engineering
- Design, manage, and secure multi-cloud infrastructure for scalable, flexible, resilient, and cost-performant architectures across commercial and government-compliant deployments
- Manage data platforms supporting large-scale data processing, analytics, and machine learning
Developer Experience
- Own infrastructure and tooling: monorepo, CI/CD platform, build systems, local development environments, and internal tooling
- Drive Developer Acceleration across the engineering organization
- Make AI-first, agent-first development the default way engineers work
Site Reliability
- Ensure systems are reliable, available, performant, and efficient
- Establish and monitor SLOs and error budgets
- Own observability, drive toil reduction, and lead incident management
DevOps / Release Engineering
- Automate and optimize the software delivery lifecycle from commit to deploy
- Build robust CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
Your Responsibilities
Technical Strategy & Execution
- Define and own a multi-year technical strategy for Platform Engineering
- Set reference architecture and standards for cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and developer tooling
- Make key decisions on scalability, performance, security, and cost
- Lead build-vs-buy and platform investment decisions
Developer Experience & Acceleration
- Own the Developer Acceleration program and drive measurable gains in build times, PR cycle time, flaky-test rate, and deployment frequency (DORA / SPACE)
- Drive AI-first, agent-first transformation of the software development lifecycle
- Set strategy for integrating AI-assisted development tools and agentic coding harnesses (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, agent frameworks) into CI/CD, code review, local development, and release pipelines
- Establish how AI-assisted and agent-generated code is reviewed, tested, secured, and governed
- Evolve monorepo strategy: code organization, dependency management, build caching, and testing patterns
Operational Excellence
- Establish best practices for monitoring, incident response, automation, and performance optimization
- Drive culture of ownership, resilience, and accountability
- Own reliability and cost across cloud infrastructure; conduct post-incident reviews and capacity planning
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner across product, engineering, security, data science, and commercial teams
- Communicate trade-offs, constraints, and roadmap to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Manage relationships with external vendors and cloud/tooling providers
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and inspire a multidisciplinary organization of engineers and managers
- Manage distributed teams across multiple time zones
- Recruit top-tier talent and foster professional development
About You
- Experience building, leading, and scaling best-in-class platform and/or developer experience organizations in rapidly scaling environments
- 10+ years developing or managing complex engineering systems with significant time owning developer experience, platform engineering, or build/test/release pipeline end to end
- Proven track record driving developer experience and productivity with concrete before/after outcomes
- Direct, hands-on experience with AI-assisted and agentic development and clear opinions on how they change code review, testing, pipeline design, and org structure
- Deep expertise with CI/CD systems (Buildkite, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and scaling them in a monorepo at scale
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to lead from the front
