About the role

Key Responsibilities

  • Own product copy across all touchpoints: in-app flows, onboarding, member communications, notifications, action plans, empty states, error handling, and more.
  • Steward brand voice: define, evolve, and defend Function's voice across surfaces and contributors.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Product, and Clinical teams to ensure copy is accurate, human, and on-brand; flag inconsistencies and raise copy-related edge cases early.
  • Perform UX writing upstream of design decisions to shape the full experience.
  • Iterate using data: A/B testing, member feedback, and performance data.
  • Conduct editorial review to raise the standard of copy org-wide.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of UX writing or product copywriting experience, ideally in consumer health, wellness, or complex-product context.
  • Portfolio demonstrating range across copy types (in-product flows, email, campaign headlines, onboarding, error states) with consistent quality.
  • Strong instinct for voice and tone calibration, writing warmly/precisely for sensitive health results and sharply for conversion moments.
  • Experience in health, wellness, or clinical tech (comfort with medical terminology, regulatory constraints, high-stakes information hierarchies).
  • Collaborative by default; works closely with designers, PMs, and clinicians.
  • Comfort working directly in Figma; manages workload across multiple concurrent projects with minimal hand-holding.
  • AI-native mindset: understands LLMs, where they produce noise, and how to work with/around them.
  • Actively uses AI tooling (Claude, Cursor, or equivalent) to accelerate ideation, drafting, and iteration without sacrificing voice.
  • Experience designing content for agentic experiences; critical thinking about AI-generated copy (when it's scaffolding vs. eroding voice).
