Senior Counsel, Commercial
Senior commercial counsel will support Twilio’s enterprise sales organization by managing complex technology transactions and advising internal clients on contract, compliance, and business risk. The role requires a J.D., bar eligibility, and at least six years of commercial transactions experience.

Responsibilities
- Review, negotiate, draft, and manage a wide range of legal agreements.
- Advise internal clients on contract interpretation and negotiation.
- Ensure compliance policies are implemented, protect the company from risk, comply with applicable local laws and regulations, and align with company values.
- Understand customer and internal-client perspectives to solve problems and address issues.
- Evaluate and prioritize matters requiring attention.
Requirements
- J.D. with strong academic credentials and a demonstrated record of success as a lawyer.
- Member of a local State Bar or eligible to register as Registered In-House Counsel.
- 6+ years of commercial transactions experience, including at least 4 years negotiating complex technology transactions such as SaaS.
- Experience supporting a large sales organization.
- Ability to structure, draft, and negotiate a high volume and broad range of commercial contracts, including Master Services Agreements, Professional Services Agreements, and Non-Disclosure Agreements.
- Ability to provide entrepreneurial, pragmatic, business-oriented advice that balances legal risk and business reward.
- Ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly to non-lawyers.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including collaborative advocacy.
- Ability to triage a heavy workflow, set expectations with internal clients, and deliver results efficiently.
Compensation and Benefits
- Estimated pay range: CAD $145,840–$182,300.
- Target bonus percentage: 15% when applicable.

- Occasional travel may be required for project or team meetings.
