The Senior Accountant will manage daily accounting operations, month-end close activities, reconciliations, financial reporting, audits, and process improvements, with a focus on personnel-related costs. Responsibilities
Financial Close and Reporting
- Prepare and post job-specific journal entries, including underlying calculations and supporting documentation.
- Prepare general ledger account and financial statement flux analyses, explaining activity and drivers for commission and bonus, stock-based compensation, and employee benefits.
- Prepare rollforward and reconciliation schedules for balance sheet and expense accounts, including payroll liabilities, accrued and prepaid bonuses, 401(k) liabilities, and common stock.
- Assist with financial statements and related footnote disclosures.
- Participate in designing, executing, and improving the close task list, close calendar, and team close performance.
Systems, Policies, and Processes
- Assist in developing and maintaining close and technical accounting policies and procedures.
- Collaborate on changing system and process needs by gathering information, generating ideas, and implementing solutions.
- Help develop best practices, policies, and internal controls that improve team performance and support Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
Other Accounting Responsibilities
- Participate in financial audits by preparing audit schedules, compiling documents, responding to inquiries, and meeting with auditors.
- Lead or assist with Finance and Accounting projects as needed.
- Collaborate with Strategic Finance, Payroll, Accounting, HR, Legal, and external auditors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience in public accounting and/or an accounting role.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and general ledger structure.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain accounting topics clearly.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and prioritize team needs.
Nice-to-Haves
- SaaS accounting experience.
- NetSuite proficiency.
- Microsoft Office proficiency, including intermediate Excel skills such as VLOOKUP, IF functions, and pivot tables.
- Comfort using AI tools such as Gemini or Claude to improve productivity, draft communications, analyze data, and streamline accounting workflows.
Compensation
- Annual salary range: $105,315–$142,485.
