Finance Manager

Finance Manager will build and lead the finance function across three global entities, owning close, FP&A, treasury, cross-border transactions, compliance, payroll, reporting, and fundraising support. Requires CA/CPA-equivalent credentials, 3–8 years of experience, and hands-on international trade finance expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead the founding finance team across controllership, FP&A, AP/AR, payroll, and compliance.
  • Own monthly close and produce accurate books under Ind AS and applicable GAAP.
  • Lead ERP selection and rollout, including chart of accounts, approval matrix, procure-to-pay, and supply-chain inventory integration.
  • Run operating plans, budgets, rolling forecasts, scenario models, and cash-runway tracking.
  • Manage consolidated cash flow and treasury across three entities, including intercompany funding, banking, and FX.
  • Own import/export documentation and cross-border transaction flows, including customs, trade documents, Letters of Credit, remittances, and reconciliation.
  • Ensure tax and regulatory compliance across GST, TDS, income tax, transfer pricing, FEMA, RBI, IGCR, and ROC/MCA filings.
  • Identify and maximize government incentives and grants, including PLI, RoDTEP, duty drawback, EPCG, SEZ/EOU, and startup/R&D grants.
  • Partner with Supply Chain on BOM cost, inventory accounting, COGS, working capital, and TCO.
  • Prepare board and investor reporting covering MIS, burn, runway, unit economics, and KPIs.
  • Establish internal controls and financial governance; lead statutory audits and manage auditors and advisors.
  • Support fundraising through data rooms, financial models, cap table management, diligence, and ESOP administration.
  • Manage payroll across two entities, including US payroll, statutory withholding, and employment-law compliance.
  • Document finance SOPs and develop the finance talent bench.

Requirements

  • Chartered Accountant, CPA, or equivalent.
  • 3–8 years of finance experience.
  • End-to-end ownership of the monthly-close cycle.
  • Experience in cross-border commerce, import/export, or international trade, including trade documentation and transaction flows.
  • Deep knowledge of Ind AS, IFRS, or US GAAP; statutory compliance; and direct and indirect taxation.
  • Multi-entity, cross-border finance experience, including Letters of Credit, FX, transfer pricing, and FEMA/RBI requirements.
  • Experience managing payroll across multiple entities, including US payroll and withholding.
  • Knowledge of government incentive frameworks, including PLI, export incentives, duty drawback/RoDTEP, EPCG, SEZ/EOU, and startup/R&D grants.
  • Strong understanding of unit economics, gross margin, working capital, runway, and TCO.
  • Strong people leadership and ability to operate strategically and tactically.
  • Advanced Excel, financial modeling, and executive communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fundraising support experience, including data rooms, diligence, investor reporting, and financial models.
  • Experience managing multi-entity or cross-border finance structures.
  • Experience in manufacturing, inventory-heavy, hardware, EV, deep-tech, or cross-border commerce businesses with EXIM operations.
  • Hands-on ERP/accounting-system rollout experience with SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Zoho Books, Tally, or QuickBooks.
  • ESOP/equity administration experience.
  • Exposure to robotics, drones, EVs, or emerging hardware.
