Supplier Development Engineer
The Supplier Development Engineer improves aerospace supplier capabilities, manufacturing processes, quality, delivery, and cost through audits, technical support, performance monitoring, and corrective actions. The role requires 7+ years of manufacturing or manufacturing engineering experience, a relevant master’s degree, and extensive supplier travel.

Responsibilities
- Audit and embed into core supplier processes to identify opportunities to improve cost, lead times, and quality.
- Conduct on-site audits to determine root causes of supplier quality issues and performance challenges.
- Assess and improve supplier capabilities in alignment with engineering and operational priorities.
- Provide suppliers with technical guidance on part specifications, manufacturing processes and standards, and quality measures.
- Track and analyze supplier delivery, quality, and cost metrics.
- Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement plans as needed.
- Identify and mitigate supply-chain risks to ensure uninterrupted production and component delivery.
- Support new product introduction by ensuring suppliers meet quality and delivery requirements during development.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment and/or manufacturing engineering role.
- Depending on commodity expertise, proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or CATIA, with the ability to analyze and explain 2D drawings.
- Depending on commodity expertise, proficiency in electrical CAD tools and interpretation of schematics and PCB drawings.
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- Problem-solving skills, including root-cause investigation and failure analysis.
- Ability to travel to domestic and international suppliers approximately 50% or more of the time.
