Director of Business Development & Strategy, Branded Payments

Leads growth strategy and business development for a branded payments and stored-value business, including partner acquisition, deal structuring, go-to-market planning, and cross-functional product delivery. Responsibilities

  • Own the growth strategy for the stored value and branded payments business, from opportunity identification through deal close and launch.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of prospective partners, lead commercial conversations, and structure mutually beneficial deals.
  • Define the go-to-market strategy, including positioning, target segments, pricing structure, and launch sequencing.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to translate market and partner feedback into roadmap input and ensure commercial commitments are buildable.
  • Coordinate with Go-to-Market and Partnerships on market strategy and execution.
  • Set strategic goals and report progress to leadership.
  • Represent the company externally with partners, prospects, and industry stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in financial services and branded payments; go-to-market and strategy experience in financial services, payments, or technology preferred.
  • Track record in business development or partnerships, including deal-making and commercial negotiation.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product and Engineering and translating between commercial and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to set strategic goals, prioritize opportunities, and build plans for undefined markets or products.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with stablecoins, card issuing, or blockchain-based payment infrastructure.
  • Experience launching a new product line or business unit from near-zero.
  • Existing relationships with branded payments partners, including retailers, platforms, or fintechs.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary range: $210,000–$250,000.
  • Unlimited time off, with a minimum of 10 days required annually.
