Senior Electrical Construction Project Engineer
Oversee end-to-end electrical infrastructure construction for Memphis operations, spanning substations, distribution, data-center power systems, and BESS. The role requires a bachelor’s degree, at least five years of relevant experience, and strong project management, commissioning, contractor, and high-voltage expertise.

Responsibilities
- Own the full lifecycle of electrical construction projects, including high-voltage substations, transformers, switchgear, BESS, data-center power distribution, UPS, generators, and low-voltage systems.
- Manage multidisciplinary electrical construction projects in field and office settings as construction project manager and superintendent.
- Perform scheduling, cost control, project estimating, and commissioning coordination.
- Coordinate with electrical contractors, fabricators, OEMs, utilities, architects, and internal customers.
- Resolve high-, medium-, and low-voltage design and construction conflicts in the field.
- Gather proposals, assign contracts, and facilitate permitting, utility interconnection, environmental, and governmental approvals.
- Coordinate equipment delivery, installation, testing, energization, and turnover.
- Support electrical operations, maintenance, BESS reliability, space allocation, power-capacity planning, load growth, and utility planning.
- Take on additional electrical infrastructure projects as business needs require.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems engineering, or a related field; candidates with civil, mechanical, or construction management degrees and strong electrical experience may also be considered.
- 5+ years of professional experience in electrical construction, power systems engineering, substations, data-center electrical infrastructure, BESS, or facilities electrical management.
- Ability to work at elevated heights and around energized/high-voltage equipment with appropriate training and PPE.
- Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Availability for extended hours and weekends when required by site operations and commissioning.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Occasional travel may be required.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- 7+ years of experience with high-voltage substations, medium-voltage distribution, data-center electrical systems, or BESS construction/project management.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in electrical engineering.
- Experience managing large-scale electrical and vertical projects.
- Knowledge of jurisdictional permitting, utility interconnection, and environmental agency processes.
- Strong understanding of substations, transformers, switchgear, protection and control, grounding, BESS, UPS, generators, low-voltage distribution, and data-center power architecture.
- Experience with estimating, cost control, scheduling, contractor management, and commissioning.
- Experience reviewing and approving electrical shop drawings, one-lines, protection schemes, fabrication drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Data-center, BESS, or large-scale manufacturing/power facility experience.
Work Environment
- Work may involve extreme outdoor conditions, indoor data-center and substation environments, fumes, odors, noise, and electrical hazards.
