Software Engineer, Internal Tools

Build and maintain internal tooling and automations to improve operational efficiency across engineering, operations, and business teams. Own end-to-end integrations, developer experience improvements, and security-compliant tool adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Automate cross-functional processes by identifying manual workflows and building solutions to eliminate friction
  • Design and ship end-to-end integrations between internal systems and third-party services (scoping, deployment, monitoring)
  • Improve developer experience through automating local environment setup, CI/CD optimization, and reducing onboarding time
  • Research, evaluate, and adopt new tools (Zapier, n8n, Make, AI productivity tools) while ensuring security and compliance requirements are met
  • Automate recurring reports by pulling data from AWS Athena, REST APIs, and other sources
  • Participate in daily remote standups

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering, automation, or internal tools roles (startup experience preferred)
  • Strong TypeScript proficiency for building clean, maintainable code
  • React proficiency for building and extending UI components
  • Hands-on experience with API integrations, webhooks, and third-party services
  • Deep understanding of REST, OAuth, mTLS, WebSockets, and integration technologies
  • Security-aware mindset with experience in secrets management, scoped permissions, and secure credential storage
  • Self-directed with ability to work independently on projects

Nice to Have

  • Experience building internal dashboards, admin tooling, or ops automation in B2B SaaS
  • Familiarity with AWS (Athena, Lambda), Slack, GitHub Actions, Pylon, PostHog, GSuite
  • Experience with integration platforms like Zapier, n8n, or Make
  • Exposure to healthcare data (FHIR, HL7, PHI handling)
  • Experience using LLMs or AI agents to automate workflows
