GTM Engineer - Systems and Infrastructure

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design and build Salesforce objects, flows, validation rules, reports, and dashboards for GTM teams.
  • Build and maintain CPQ and billing workflows in Salesforce, ensuring clean handoffs between sales, finance, and post-sale teams.
  • Serve as the primary Salesforce builder for Sales, Tech Partnerships, CX, Finance, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Extend Clay into new use cases, provide product feedback, dogfood new features, and evangelize Clay infrastructure and GTM Engineering practices.
  • Engineer the internal Clay instance for scale and reliability.
  • Design protocols, observability, and debugging principles to support high uptime.
  • Partner with GTM leaders and frontline teams to understand revenue processes and identify breakdowns.
  • Automate and redesign workflows using improved systems design and AI.
  • Design data-quality validation, governance, and structure for the GTM stack.
  • Connect Salesforce to adjacent systems using APIs, webhooks, and automation layers.
  • Document systems so others can understand, trust, and extend them.

Requirements

  • 6–10 years of experience across Technical Revenue Operations, GTM Engineering, site reliability engineering, or a similar applied technical discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, GTM Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Ability to build and troubleshoot using Python, JavaScript, SQL, SOQL, or TypeScript.
  • Experience partnering with data engineering on core pipelines, data warehouses, BI tools, or event-driven systems.
  • Experience building, developing, or connecting Salesforce and adjacent GTM systems.
  • Hands-on experience with customer-success tooling such as Gainsight, Vitally, or ChurnZero.
  • Deep hands-on Salesforce experience, including Flow, custom objects, validation rules, triggers, reports, CPQ, and billing workflows.
  • Strong experience with APIs, webhooks, and cross-system workflow design.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-changing hypergrowth environments.

Nice to Have

  • Experience building in Clay as a primary workflow or enrichment layer.
  • Experience in analytics engineering, data science, or software/infrastructure engineering.
  • Salesforce Administrator, Developer, or CPQ Specialist certification.
