About the role
Responsibilities
Design and specify electrical power distribution systems, switchgear, motor control centers, lighting, UPS units, generators, automatic transfer switches, power monitoring, data/phone distribution, grounding, fire alarm, and lightning protection systems.
Provide electrical engineering support to troubleshoot existing equipment and controllers.
Perform load flow analysis, electrical equipment evaluation, grounding assessments, and power monitoring.
Ensure equipment interfaces with mechanical and electrical systems within power budgets.
Coordinate installations and maintenance with local utilities.
Ensure designs conform to applicable codes (NFPA 70E, NEC, NFPA 497, NFPA 101, AFSPCMAN 91-710, IBC).
Provide code review and analysis.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
3+ years of professional experience on electrical projects, power distribution, switchgear, UPS, and/or generators.
Preferred Skills
5+ years of experience in similar role.
Professional Engineering (PE) license.
Ability to read power and control schematics and technical O&M manuals.
Experience with VFDs, industrial pumps, MODBUS controls, medium voltage distribution, control panel design.
Knowledge of power coordination and arc flash.
Ability to multitask, self-motivated, organized, able to prioritize with minimal supervision.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
