Responsibilities

  • Design and specify electrical power distribution systems, switchgear, motor control centers, lighting, UPS units, generators, automatic transfer switches, power monitoring, data/phone distribution, grounding, fire alarm, and lightning protection systems.
  • Provide electrical engineering support to troubleshoot existing equipment and controllers.
  • Perform load flow analysis, electrical equipment evaluation, grounding assessments, and power monitoring.
  • Ensure equipment interfaces with mechanical and electrical systems within power budgets.
  • Coordinate installations and maintenance with local utilities.
  • Ensure designs conform to applicable codes (NFPA 70E, NEC, NFPA 497, NFPA 101, AFSPCMAN 91-710, IBC).
  • Provide code review and analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of professional experience on electrical projects, power distribution, switchgear, UPS, and/or generators.

Preferred Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in similar role.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Ability to read power and control schematics and technical O&M manuals.
  • Experience with VFDs, industrial pumps, MODBUS controls, medium voltage distribution, control panel design.
  • Knowledge of power coordination and arc flash.
  • Ability to multitask, self-motivated, organized, able to prioritize with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
