Responsibilities
- Lead programs spanning model training, information retrieval, large-scale indexing, and search infrastructure.
- Translate evolving goals into prioritized workstreams with owners, milestones, dependencies, and resource requirements.
- Partner with research, engineering, and product leaders to define requirements and make tradeoffs across scope, quality, performance, timelines, and cost.
- Establish success metrics and use them to guide priorities and track improvements in coverage, answer quality, responsiveness, and trust.
- Identify technical and cross-functional risks, drive blockers to resolution, and communicate progress and decisions to teams and leadership.
- Coordinate with product, policy, legal, and external partners on data access, use, and presentation.
- Manage dependencies with data providers and build repeatable processes for research and engineering execution.
Requirements
- Substantial technical experience delivering complex programs across multiple engineering teams and large technical stacks.
- Experience with search, information retrieval, indexing, or similarly complex systems.
- Ability to understand technical architectures and tradeoffs and communicate effectively with engineers and researchers.
- Ability to bring clarity to ambiguous research problems while maintaining ownership and momentum.
- Strong product judgment and program execution discipline.
- Resourceful, hands-on approach to program strategy and execution details.
- Strong cross-functional communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
