Design and operate scalable Go-based microservices, APIs, and data models supporting Cloudflare’s addressing infrastructure. The role requires strong systems programming, networking, database, and distributed-systems experience, with opportunities to shape shared platforms.

Responsibilities
- Design and develop microservices, APIs, and data models for addressing platforms.
- Build reliable, fault-tolerant systems that operate at Cloudflare scale.
- Learn and work with edge routers, servers, DNS, and IP provisioning pipelines.
- Collaborate with engineers across the company to understand their needs and create scalable shared platforms.
- Shape products, tools, and system designs from the ground up.
- Debug complex problems and maintain high-quality code.
Requirements
- Experience writing high-quality code in one or more system programming languages, such as Go, Python, or C/C++.
- Experience with modern Unix/Linux development and runtime environments.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP and general networking.
- Basic understanding of HTTP, HTTPS, and TLS.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Experience building and operating distributed systems.
- Strong debugging skills and attention to detail.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn unfamiliar technologies.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Go.
- Experience with Rust.
- Familiarity with UI design, workflows, and implementation.
- Familiarity with anycast or multisite unicast networks.
- Knowledge of DNS and DNS-based traffic management techniques, such as geo DNS.
