Responsibilities

  • Partner with the sales team to articulate Datadog’s value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers.
  • Build competitive knowledge, technical skill, and credibility through continuous technology learning.
  • Assist with technical discovery on key accounts and opportunities.
  • Deliver tailored product and technical presentations to prospective clients.
  • Help clients evaluate the platform and resolve roadblocks.
  • Own technical customer engagement during trials, communicating product value and resolving issues or concerns through successful conclusion.
  • Communicate with customers and Datadog business and technical teams regarding product feedback and the competitive landscape.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1.5 years of experience in a Sales Engineering role.
  • Previous observability experience.
  • Ability to educate customers about observability risks and build and execute customer evaluation plans.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to articulate business value and technical advantages.
  • Ability to communicate technical and business value to SREs, developers, and executives.
  • Confidence delivering technical presentations and demonstrations to external customers or internal teams.
  • Proven experience engaging in complex deals involving multiple teams, applications, stakeholders, champion building, and competitive evaluations or replacements.
  • Strong background in technical infrastructure, cloud environments, and security.
  • Ability to travel by automobile, train, or air up to 25% of the time.
