Director of Finance
Director of Finance responsible for building financial models, owning the financial narrative for the board and investors, and shaping capital strategy ahead of the next fundraising round at an early-stage AI healthcare company. Requires 5+ years in finance roles, strong analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration, and a bachelor's degree.
About the job
Responsibilities
- Own the financial narrative by building frameworks and models for a fast-scaling business, turning data into a story the board and investors can trust.
- Dig deep into drivers of spend, growth, or risk to surface real insights before they become problems or lost opportunities.
- Sit at the center of capital strategy, working directly with the CEO, leadership, and board to shape the company's financial story, especially in preparation for the next fundraising round.
- Manage contracts, negotiate with vendors, and keep the business running efficiently by partnering with Sales, Legal, Operations, and Tech leadership.
- As an early, high-trust role on a small team, take on more scope and seniority as the company scales toward and past Series B.
Requirements
- 5+ years in startup, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or corporate finance.
- Willing and able to work with key financial and operational systems to run a high-performing finance and accounting function.
- Work well across the organization, partnering effectively with various leadership teams.
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to understand what's underneath the models, not just trust the outputs.
- Sharp, confident communicator who can hold their own with experienced investors.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
