Safeguards Enforcement Analyst, Conventional Weapons
Design and operate scalable AI policy-enforcement workflows focused on conventional weapons and dangerous-technology misuse. The role combines threat intelligence, content review, evaluation development, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with policy, engineering, legal, and data science teams.

Responsibilities
- Design and architect automated enforcement systems and scalable review workflows while maintaining high accuracy.
- Develop and maintain evaluations measuring model performance, surfacing regressions, and informing policy and model improvements.
- Partner with Engineering and Data Science to optimize detection and automated enforcement systems.
- Review flagged content, make enforcement decisions, identify policy gaps, and analyze sophisticated misuse attempts and emerging tactics.
- Provide structured feedback to policy designers on enforcement gaps and ambiguities.
- Create and maintain enforcement guidelines and reviewer documentation for accurate, consistent decisions.
- Monitor emerging weapons trends, applications, regulatory changes, and AI policy-enforcement practices.
- Identify and escalate emerging misuse patterns, novel attack vectors, and coordinated violent activity.
Requirements
- Deep applied expertise in weapons systems and the ability to translate complex technical evidence into enforcement decisions.
- Experience in policy enforcement, threat intelligence, counterterrorism, government, or a related field involving harmful content, dangerous technology, or facilitation of physical harm.
- Experience establishing and scaling policy-enforcement or content-review workflows.
- Proficiency in SQL and/or data-analysis tools for analyzing large datasets and monitoring workflow health.
- Experience identifying emerging risks and threat actors and communicating findings to Product, Policy, Engineering, and Legal stakeholders.
- Experience with generative AI products, including writing prompts for content review and enforcement.
- Understanding of implementing product policies at scale, including content moderation.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in conventional weapons, dangerous technology, autonomous systems, or critical infrastructure protection.
- Familiarity with legal and regulatory frameworks covering dangerous technology, conventional weapons, and critical infrastructure.
- Experience developing evaluations or red-teaming AI systems for harmful-content or policy-enforcement use cases.
- Experience with threat-actor profiling and threat-intelligence frameworks.
- Experience tracking threat actors, extremist networks, or misuse patterns across surface, deep, and dark web environments.
- Experience with large language models and AI-related serious-harm risks.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis and workflow automation.
- Background in law enforcement, national security, defense, counterterrorism, or relevant regulatory environments.
- Experience assessing technical plausibility and real-world harm potential, distinguishing educational content from operational uplift and protected speech from incitement or mobilization.
- Familiarity with cross-platform threat analysis and OSINT techniques.
Compensation
- Annual salary: $245,000–$330,000 USD.
