Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end delivery of key business initiatives from product discovery, to system design, and all the way to feature launch.
• Architect and evolve core distributed services for reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Design and deliver large-scale data-intensive applications using techniques in real-time transaction decisioning, stream-processing, and machine learning.
• Evolve org-wide engineering standards for architecture, testing, monitoring practices, and documentation.
• Mentor engineers through code and architecture reviews, raising the technical bar of the team.
• Partner with product, data, and business stakeholders to shape technical direction and product roadmap.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with backend experience using a JVM language, preferably Java.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design, and multi-threaded programming.
• Experience with cloud-hosted services, like AWS or GCP.
• Proficiency in both RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, MongoDB, Spanner, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, BigQuery.
• Background in real-time fraud detection, identity protection, or large-scale transaction processing.
• Experience with Scala for data pipelines.
• Familiarity with machine learning infrastructure and experimentation.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range: $170,000 - $250,000.
