Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end delivery of key business initiatives from product discovery, to system design, and all the way to feature launch.
- Architect and evolve core distributed services for reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Design and deliver large-scale data-intensive applications using techniques in real-time transaction decisioning, stream-processing, and machine learning.
- Evolve org-wide engineering standards for architecture, testing, monitoring practices, and documentation.
- Mentor engineers through code and architecture reviews, raising the technical bar of the team.
- Partner with product, data, and business stakeholders to shape technical direction and product roadmap.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with backend experience using a JVM language, preferably Java.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design, and multi-threaded programming.
- Experience with cloud-hosted services, like AWS or GCP.
- Proficiency in both RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, MongoDB, Spanner, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, BigQuery.
- Background in real-time fraud detection, identity protection, or large-scale transaction processing.
- Experience with Scala for data pipelines.
- Familiarity with machine learning infrastructure and experimentation.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $170,000 - $250,000.
