Python Engineer - Trade Operations

The Python Engineer will improve and operate trading systems, support integrations with asset classes and prime brokers, and handle monitoring, incidents, and performance optimization. The role requires 3+ years of experience, strong Python and Linux skills, and familiarity with market data and order-entry systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and drive continual improvements to the trading platform using Python.
  • Support new trade functionality, including new asset classes and prime brokers.
  • Establish FIX sessions, file encryption, and FTP setups.
  • Monitor trading systems and infrastructure for performance and reliability.
  • Identify and resolve potential issues to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Respond to alerts and incidents, investigate root causes, and implement preventive solutions.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, quantitative researchers, engineers, and business teams.
  • Use automation tools, including AI-based solutions, to improve accounting and operational workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a STEM-related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in financial services.
  • Strong proficiency with Linux systems and Python.
  • Understanding of market data and order-entry systems.
  • Interest in modern electronic markets.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $150,000–$200,000, depending on educational and professional background.
