Supervises mine maintenance technicians, coordinating safety, work orders, parts, projects, and hands-on equipment repairs. Responsibilities
Safety and Compliance
- Conduct daily safety meetings and workplace inspections.
- Maintain technician daily logs, incident and accident reports, and investigation documentation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and company policies.
Crew Management
- Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians.
- Complete crew timecards accurately and promptly.
- Assign tasks and prioritize workloads.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and training.
- Promote a clean, organized, collaborative, and safe work environment.
Workload and Project Management
- Manage time and resources to meet deadlines and production targets.
- Prioritize maintenance tasks based on urgency and operational impact.
- Coordinate tooling, parts, and personnel for projects.
Work Orders and Parts
- Create, review, and complete work orders.
- Coordinate with planners on scheduling and resource allocation.
- Create, review, and manage parts lists.
- Source and procure parts from vendors.
- Research replacement parts and technical information.
Equipment Repair
- Perform hands-on field repairs and troubleshooting alongside the maintenance team.
- Research repair requirements and technical information.
- Advise planners on repairs and estimated downtime.
- Manage equipment availability and reporting.
- Collaborate with other departments to complete repairs efficiently.
Requirements
- Experience managing a team in mobile or vehicle maintenance, preferably in a mine setting.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and coordination skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
- Proficiency in welding techniques and safe handling of welding equipment.
- Understanding of vehicle systems, including hydraulics, electrical systems, filtration, fuel, air conditioning, and refrigeration.
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance.
- Ability to conduct advanced troubleshooting and failure analysis using electronic diagnostic tools.
- Ability to interpret maintenance manuals and schematics.
- Knowledge of maintaining pumps, compressors, boilers, and other plant equipment.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, extended hours, overtime, and on-call assignments.
- Willingness and ability to perform manual labor.
- Proficiency with maintenance tracking software.
- Ability to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Valid driver's license.
