Responsibilities
- Lead, hire, coach, and evaluate the Category Manager team.
- Maintain a consolidated, portfolio-wide risk register covering single-source exposures, lead-time bottlenecks, and supplier financial concerns.
- Own and improve sourcing playbooks, including the RFI/RFQ/AVL qualification sequence, Kraljic category frameworks, and standardized supplier scorecards.
- Establish negotiation sign-off thresholds, escalation paths, and redline standards; coach Category Managers on complex supplier contracts.
- Prioritize sourcing team capacity across spend categories based on business demands and schedule constraints.
- Maintain clear operational boundaries between Strategic Sourcing and Material Planning.
- Synthesize category strategies, cost savings and avoidance metrics, and supply constraints for executive leadership and monthly S&OP reconciliations.
Requirements
- 8–12+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or category management.
- Direct people-management experience leading a sourcing or procurement team in manufacturing, industrial hardware, or electrical equipment.
- Experience designing and scaling sourcing governance, process playbooks, and team-development structures.
- Expertise in contract negotiation, including reviewing and redlining complex commercial terms such as liability caps, force majeure, and delivery commitments.
- Strong portfolio risk management, category segmentation, and financial modeling skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice-to-Haves
- MBA or relevant advanced degree.
- Experience scaling sourcing teams in high-tech infrastructure, power systems, data centers, or modular manufacturing.
- Experience with Acumatica or similar enterprise resource planning systems.
- CPSM certification.
