What you’ll do
As a member of the Solutions Engineering team, your first month will be:
- Learning to tell a clear value story about how and where Metronome solves challenges and creates opportunities in a modern monetization stack.
- Assisting in planning, building, and running customized demos of Metronome for buyers with many different personas (engineering, product management, operations, finance, etc).
In your first 3 months, you can expect to:
- Become proficient in what discovery is and using it to understand what challenges our prospects face.
- Travel to meet prospects in the field. Workshops, conferences, on-sites — we believe in meeting our customers in-person whenever possible. Anywhere in the world.
- Land deals for some of the most exciting names in software, from startups to enterprise SaaS.
In 6 months you’ll be:
- Owning knowledge areas, projects, tools, and market segments in the Solutions Engineering team.
- Running tight Proofs of Concept with clearly-defined success criteria that get us to the technical win.
- Representing the Solutions Engineering group as a deal team member on your own.
- Handling detailed scoping to ensure that customers are set up for success post-sales.
In your first year you’ll have:
- Built relationships with people at our prospect organizations, from day-to-day operators to C-Suite executives.
- Designed integrations of Metronome into prospect systems and acted as a pricing and packaging consultant, influencing the direction of our future customers.
As a fast-moving unit within Stripe, there’s a lot still to figure out and tremendous room for high-agency people to have impact and make a difference.
Who you are
Minimum requirements
- 1-3 years of experience working in technical and/or customer-facing roles involving SaaS products (for example, roles like engineering, solutions, technical account management/consulting). Academic background in a technical area with high EQ is also sought after.
- Relentless passion for being a hand-raiser. Big challenges are exciting, small tasks are an opportunity for a win. From landing big clients to simply cleaning up an old dashboard you’re interested in learning and getting things done.
- Growth mindset is critical in being able to learn new things quickly, adapt on the fly, and operate in fast-moving startup environments that value high agency.
- Exceptional communication skills -- technical, go-to-market, and finance stakeholders should all feel like comfortable counterparts in conversing with you.
- Excitement for building and improving GTM playbooks and processes.
Preferred qualifications
- Knowledge of the quote-to-cash space, including integrating with or otherwise interacting with tools like Salesforce, NetSuite, CPQs, etc.
- Experience as a software engineer, product manager, or in other technical roles.
- Experience in a pure sales role, particularly selling to technical buyers in engineering and product organizations or selling as a founding or early salesperson at a startup.
- Experience with logs, metrics, billing, finance, or other infrastructure or financial tooling and concepts.
