About the role

Responsibilities

Manage the mentor team

  • Manage a team of mentors, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and maintaining coaching quality standards.
  • Run weekly syncs, 1:1s, and escalation processes when mentors or fellows need support.
  • Ensure pull requests are reviewed on time, milestone reviews are conducted, and host managers remain engaged.

Own delivery for fellows

  • Own instructional delivery outcomes for a portfolio of approximately 200 fellows at full scale.
  • Set agendas for instructional sessions and determine whether to teach them live to the full portfolio or delegate them to mentors.
  • Define and maintain mentorship quality standards, review coaching quality, and address performance gaps.
  • Own milestone-review roll-ups and intervene when fellows' work is at risk.
  • Replace manual tracking with delivery systems that remain effective as the program scales.

Own the CodePath-to-Commons layer

  • Partner with Claude Corps strategic partners as the field counterpart, identifying what is landing across mentors and fellows.
  • Own how the team uses Commons to deliver curriculum.
  • Convert field observations into actionable curriculum change requests and close the loop when updates ship.

Key Success Metrics

  • Mentors consistently run their weekly cadence on schedule, tracked through dashboards.
  • Each mentor has documented strengths, development needs, and an implemented improvement plan where needed.
  • Delivery patterns are surfaced to Claude Corps leadership and translated into curriculum improvements.
  • A consolidated delivery view replaces manual portfolio tracking.

Requirements

  • Experience managing people and improving team performance, ideally among technical or coaching staff.
  • 3–5 years of experience in software engineering, software engineering management, product management, or engineering-adjacent management.
  • Ability to lead and teach live sessions effectively.
  • Experience owning delivery or operations outcomes at scale.
  • Experience replacing manual processes with scalable systems.
  • Experience shipping real work with AI-assisted development tools and explaining how they changed your workflow.
  • Strong written communication skills for feedback, roll-ups, escalations, and change requests.
  • Willingness to work remotely with synchronous obligations across U.S. time zones and approximately two evenings per month for cohort sessions and milestone reviews.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience managing coaches, instructors, or managers in a bootcamp, fellowship, residency, or cohort-based program.
  • Experience scaling a delivery team through rapid headcount growth while maintaining quality.
  • Familiarity with platform- or LMS-delivered learning models and using delivery data to identify risk early.

Compensation

  • Annual salary: $130,000–$148,000.
  • Salary is standardized by position level and determined based on relevant experience and skills.

Benefits

  • 100% remote within the U.S.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, with 90% employer coverage for employees and dependents.
  • Employer-funded healthcare reimbursement, FSAs, and an Employee Assistance Program.
  • 401(k), employer-paid life and disability insurance, and identity theft protection.
  • Generous paid time off, paid holidays, and 10 weeks of fully paid parental leave.
