Responsibilities
- Support lawyers with first-round markups of investment-related NDAs and commercial contracts.
- Manage document lifecycles, track deadlines, communicate with counterparties, and assist with execution.
- Work closely with lawyers and senior paralegals on high-volume matters.
- Develop commercial and legal expertise, with opportunities to take ownership of client accounts and progress toward qualification via Bar certification.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in law or equivalent preferred.
- Motivation, curiosity, and eagerness to develop expertise in compliance, contracts, or funds.
- Strong organization and efficiency, with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
- Clear, concise, and professional written and verbal communication.
- Ability to take initiative, work independently, and proactively flag issues.
- Strong collaboration skills when working with lawyers, senior paralegals, and client-facing teams.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior exposure to NDAs or KYC processes.
Compensation
- Expected cash compensation range: $66,400–$83,000 CAD in Toronto.
