Product Manager, Global Marketplaces
Leads strategy and execution for a technically complex global marketplaces payments suite, including fund flows, wallets, payouts, and multi-processor integrations. Requires 5+ years of product management experience, payments or fintech expertise, technical fluency, and cross-functional leadership.
About the job
Responsibilities
- Engage directly with flagship marketplaces to understand charge types, transfer logic, payout schedules, reserve policies, and scale-related edge cases; synthesize these learnings into product direction.
- Co-design and pressure-test APIs with reference users through structured early-access programs, working with marketplace engineering and finance teams to address barriers to global expansion.
- Maintain relationships with flagship accounts to validate problem framing, and partner with Enterprise Sales and Solutions Engineering to turn user learnings into scalable product decisions.
- Improve core fund-flow primitives, including debits and transfers, for greater reliability, transparency, and global availability.
- Build closed-loop wallet infrastructure for commercial marketplaces where buyers hold and respend balances.
- Expand cross-border payout coverage by adding currencies and corridors and increasing settlement speeds without increasing integration complexity.
- Enable multi-processor fund flows so marketplaces using multiple payment service providers can make unified payouts via Stripe, including PSD3-compliant funding flows in the EU.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience, including at least 2 years focused on payments, fintech, or financial infrastructure.
- Track record of shipping products across multiple teams while navigating technical complexity and regulatory or compliance constraints.
- Ability to read code, write clear specifications, evaluate API designs, and contribute credibly to engineering discussions without writing production code.
- Strong data fluency, including SQL, and the ability to form causal hypotheses about metric changes.
- Ability to build alignment across engineering, legal, and business functions.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience building or operating at a two-sided marketplace or platform, including understanding of multi-party money movement, seller onboarding, and reconciliation.
- Familiarity with Stripe Connect or equivalent platform-payment products such as Adyen for Platforms, Braintree Marketplace, Hyperwallet, or Payoneer.
- Experience designing or improving financial reconciliation and settlement reporting for platforms or sellers.
- Experience taking products from private or public preview to general availability, including self-serve activation and packaging and pricing.
