Responsibilities

  • Serve as the escalation point for complex infrastructure issues from helpdesk L1/L2 support teams.
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure, highly available infrastructure across private, public, and hybrid cloud environments, with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • Lead architecture and deployment of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions aligned with fintech regulatory and compliance requirements (SOC 2, PCI-DSS, SOX).
  • Administer and harden Windows Server environments, Active Directory (on-prem and Azure AD), and Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Manage endpoint security, Mobile Device Management (MDM) via Microsoft Intune/Endpoint Manager, JAMF and enforce Zero Trust security principles.
  • Implement and maintain Identity and Access Management (IAM) controls, including Azure AD Conditional Access, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations.
  • Partner with network infrastructure assisting with firewalls, Cisco Meraki switches, and access points — ensuring segmentation and security best practices.
  • Assist in developing and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or PowerShell DSC to drive automation and reduce manual toil.
  • Administer and support virtualization platforms including VMware vSphere and Citrix Virtual Desktops on Azure.
  • Manage cloud-based backup and disaster recovery solutions; own RTO/RPO objectives and conduct regular DR testing.
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize system performance, capacity, and security posture across all infrastructure components.
  • Collaborate with Information Security to maintain compliance with fintech regulatory frameworks and internal security policies.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies to improve operational efficiency, reduce cost, and strengthen security.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior systems administrators and helpdesk staff.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Security, and Compliance to support business-critical initiatives.
  • Coordinate with managed service and outsourcing partners to ensure SLA adherence and compliance obligations are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive systems administration experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or L3 capacity.
  • Experience in a fintech, financial services, or similarly regulated industry strongly preferred.
  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Networking, Azure AD, and Azure Security Center.
  • Mastery of Microsoft 365 administration: Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft 365 Groups architecture.
  • Strong experience with Active Directory and Azure Active Directory, including Group Policy, RBAC, and Conditional Access Policies.
  • Proficiency with virtualization technologies including VMware vSphere and Citrix Virtual Desktops on Azure.
  • Hands-on experience with network technologies: firewalls, Cisco Meraki, DHCP, DNS, VPN, and network segmentation.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet) and scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks relevant to fintech: PCI-DSS, SOC 2 Type II, SOX IT General Controls.
  • Experience with cloud-based backup solutions and disaster recovery planning.
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust security architecture principles and implementation.
  • Experience with SIEM tools, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and vulnerability management platforms.
  • Familiarity with ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management) and ITIL best practices.
  • Ability to write scripts and leverage APIs to automate workflows and integrate systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with Salesforce administration fundamentals is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications preferred: Microsoft Certified (Azure Administrator Associate, MS-102), CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive Base Salary Range of $96,300-$154,400. The applicant’s final salary will depend on a number of factors including the applicant’s geographic location, skills, and experience.
